Relays, Timers & ECRs
The Core Logic Components of Fail-Safe Signaling
We handle everything for you!
In railway signaling, every movement is governed by electromagnetic logic. At JRKC, we provide and install the highest grade of Q-series relays, timers, and Lamp Checking Relays (ECRs). These components form the "brain" of the interlocking system, ensuring that every signal, point, and gate operation follows strict safety protocols to prevent conflicting movements.
Relay Racks & Frameworks
The foundation of any relay room is a well-structured Relay Rack. we provide modular, vibration-resistant racks designed for high-density mounting. Our racks facilitate clean vertical and horizontal wire routing, ensuring that thousands of contacts are easily accessible for maintenance while remaining protected from dust and environmental interference.
DC Neutral Line Relays (QNA1K / QSA3)
We supply and install QNA1K and QSA3 DC neutral line relays, known for their extreme reliability in line circuits. These are designed with non-fusing contacts to ensure that the relay always drops to a safe state in the event of a power failure or circuit fault, maintaining the “Fail-Safe” principle of railway signaling.
Q-Series Neutral Relays (QNA1)
The QNA1 relay is the versatile workhorse of the signaling world. We offer these in various contact configurations (e.g., 8F/8B, 12F/4B) to suit specific logic requirements. Whether for track circuits, point detection, or signal control, our QNA1 installations are tested for millions of operations without mechanical fatigue.
Universal AC ECRs (QECX61)
Safety depends on knowing if a signal lamp is actually lit. The Universal AC Lamp Checking Relay (ECR) of the Q-series (QECX61) monitors the current flowing through signal LEDs or lamps. If a lamp fails, the ECR detects the drop in current and immediately triggers a “Red” or “Blank” signal status on the controller’s panel to prevent accidents.
Time Element Relays (AG Timers)
Precise timing is critical for approach locking and automatic gate operations. We install AG Timers (Time Element Relays) that provide a fixed delay—usually 60 to 120 seconds—before allowing a specific operation to occur. This ensures that even if a signal is put back to danger, the route remains locked until the train has safely come to a halt.
Key Lock Relays
For physical security and manual interlocking, we provide Key Lock Relays. These are used to electrically lock or release hand-operated points or siding gates. The logic ensures that a key can only be extracted when the signaling system has proven that it is safe to do so, preventing unauthorized track access.
Our Commitment to Quality
At JRKC, we understand that a single relay failure can halt an entire section. That is why every relay we install is pre-tested for contact resistance and drop-away values, ensuring that your signaling logic remains flawless under all conditions.
